Security Traps
The Trap model is a non-intimidating steel barrier that can be lowered and raised, making it the perfect solution for safeguarding access. The barrier has a frame-integrated steel-plate foundation, has a standard height of 600 mm and is operated hydraulically. The Trap is especially used for bus lanes, to prevent traffic taking short-cuts, for keeping city centers car-free (only emergency services vehicles and other authorized vehicles may enter the zone) and as part of a parking system which replaces vandalism-sensitive barriers. It allows passage by cyclists and pedestrians.
The Trap is designed to be released from its foundation if struck at a speed exceeding 20 km/h. This both limit the risk of driver injury and prevents frame damage. The Trap is standard supplied in white, with a retro-reflecting ‘stop’ sign on both sides. It is also possible to place a company logo or, for instance, a welcoming message on it. Over the years, the Trap has successfully been installed at various locations throughout Europe.
Road Blocks
The Road-Blocker model RB is a first-class product known all over the world for its optimal protection of persons, materials, sites and premises. The Road-Blocker is mounted on a reinforced-concrete foundation and driven by a hydraulic unit installed nearby. The Road-Blocker is supplied in standard heights of 600, 800 or 1000 mm above ground level, and in widths varying from 2000 to 8000 mm, in steps of 500 mm. The Road-Blocker is hot-galvanized and standard supplied with black and yellow stripes. The colors can of course be adapted to specific client wishes.
Although the standard version is hydraulically driven, a pneumatic drive is available. The Road-Blocker is operated by means of a push button control panel or an accesscontrol system. The Road-Blocker has a proven success record and has passed various crash tests. It is resistant to heavy vehicles and high speeds, and will continue to function after a collision. In recent years, the Road-Blocker has been installed throughout the world. Tyre Killers
The Tyre-Killer is a terrorist-oriented vehicleaccess system designed to tear to shreds the tyres and wheel rims of any unauthorised vehicle, thus bringing the vehicle to a standstill. The Tyre-Killer is made of a completely hot-galvanised steel frame bearing a row of specially hardened teeth that can be hydraulically raised or lowered in just a few seconds.
The Tyre-Killer is mounted on a reinforced-concrete foundation and driven by a hydraulic unit installed nearby. The Tyre-Killer’s controller can be linked to various access-control systems and alarm systems. The Tyre-Killer is used world-wide to control access to sensitive sites where very strict safety measures are required. Banks, military bases and international airports are safeguarded by the Tyre-Killer. The Tyre-Killer also provides an ideal means for securing strategic government complexes and government buildings, as well as embassies and consulates.
Bollards
The Pillar SY is specially designed for safety purposes and is made of first-class quality steel. The Pillar is raised or lowered by a hydraulic unit. Various manufacturers supply small poles that are used in traffic or car parks. The Pillar’s construction is intended for heavy-duty use. It provides the perfect solution for the access control of locations requiring high-security measures, such as embassies, government offices, palaces and banks.
The fastraised, fast-lowered principle not only allows the Pillar SY to block entrances and roads, but also provides protection against efforts to ram doors and windows. Although the Pillar is non-intimidating (it is a less aggressive means of protection than, for instance, the Road-Blocker or Tyre-Killer), there isn’t the slightest doubt about the degree of protection it provides. The Pillar SY has a standard height of 900 mm above ground level. It comes in red and white, but can be adapted to the client’s wishes.
Retractable Bollards
Retractable bollards are used to control the access points to public or private roads. They are available in two versions: Automatic retractable bollards (BEAs), and mechanical retractable bollards (BEMs).
The BEA retracts into the ground by means of remote control devices (remote control, contactless chip card, keypad etc.), clearing the way for traffic. The bollard automatically rises once a vehicle has passed through.
The BEM can be retracted by the turn of a key which unlocks the mechanism and by simply pushing the bollard’s head down into the ground with your foot ; locking in the lower position is automatic. Simply turn the key back, and the bollard rises again and locks in the upward position.
Removable bollards and posts
The Fixator™, patented by Urbaco, is a system whereby a fixed bollard or post becomes removable by hand. With the turn of a key, the bollard may be removed from its lodging, the Fixator™ cover placed where the bollard was, creating a smooth surface while clearing the way for traffic or passers-by.
The male socket (lower part) may be purchased separately to create removable posts or stands.

Fixed bollards and posts
Fixed bollards and posts are most suitable on public or private grounds to border roads, parking areas or simply to protect grounds where vehicles should not be allowed in.
These Urbaco products are manufactured in cast iron, but also in steel, stainless steel, wood, and stone.
These bollards and posts in cast iron, steel, stainless steel, wood… are embedded in concrete at their bases. The shape of the embedding base may differ depending on the model and may be extended on option to increase impact resistance if the nature of the soil so requires.
The impact or shock resistance of these articles depends indeed on the quality of embedding and anchoring in the ground and on the nature of the material chosen for the bollard or the post.
